Welcome to the M.H. Forke Lodge – one of the most unique event spaces in the Big Bend. This renovated camp canteen is filled to the brim with character and charm, making it the perfect backdrop for your special occasion. The Lodge can accommodate about 120 to 150 guests and has a generous amount of outdoor space to extend the life of your party. From our spacious back porch to the separate deck overlooking the spring to the expansive green space for tents or outdoor activities.

From the moment you step in the Lodge at Sherlock Springs, you’ll understand why it stands out. Everything about the Lodge is unique. From the gorgeous wood grain that peeks through the shiplap walls, to the pine planked ceiling, the Lodge exudes Southern charm.

Enjoy our beautifully-lit live oak trees at your evening event or make memories under the stars around our outdoor firepit. From cocktail hour on our expansive porch to greenways to extend your event, the Lodge at Sherlock Springs is perfect place to gather and celebrate any occasion.

The towering stone fireplace is the focal point of the Lodge.
The original pine ceiling doesn’t only reflect the Lodge’s history, but also its charm.
The Lodge’s rustic charm is reflected in every detail.
Rough-hewn cedar columns and white-washed shiplap walls will surround your guests with a chic farmhouse style.

Let us make your special day a truly memorable experience! Enjoy having your family and friends watch you say ‘I do’ under majestic live oaks at the beautifully renovated Lodge or near the sparkling waters at the overlook at Sherlock Spring. Guests can enjoy cocktail hour on the welcoming front porch, or the overlook at the spring, while the newlyweds take photos with gorgeous backdrops. The Lodge can accommodate about 120 to 150 guests and is the perfect setting for your celebration.

Property Rental Includes:

Use of the lodge, catering kitchen, changing room, side deck, front porch, rocking chairs, rustic table, tables (60” round, 6’ rectangular, 8’ rectangular), black banquet chairs, black or white table linens, high top tables, live oak area (outside next to the lodge), hilltop area, overlook deck, outside white folding chairs, cornhole game, and fireplace.

Sherlock Springs staff will have the tables, chairs etc. set up prior to the start of the event.

Staff will unlock the building, monitor restrooms, AC/heat, and tend the fireplace (if requested).

If requested, day of event coordination includes:

A staff member acting as the onsite event coordinator during the day of the event. A designated staff member will meet with all vendors, coordinate vendor placements on site, monitor and keep event timelines (photos, dinner, ceremony, etc.), greet guests, and manage any other event specifics during the day of the event.
